British multinational gambling company International Game Technology PLC (NYSE: IGT) has inked a multi-year agreement with New York City-based bookmaker and daily fantasy sports provider FanDuel Group.

The recently agreed deal will see IGT increase its coverage in the rapidly-growing US sports betting market while its PlaySports platform will power all of the provider’s existing and new retail FanDuel Sportsbooks throughout the US until September 2024.

“to propel an already winning partnership”

Also part of the agreement, FanDuel Group will offer the UK-based company’s PlayDigital’s PlayCasino games in US states where the leading sports betting and iGaming provider’s online casinos operate.

Integral to expansion:

In an official press release, FanDuel Group Chief Executive Officer Matt King commented on the recent tie-up, saying…

“IGT’s PlaySports platform has been integral to FanDuel Sportsbook’s expansion in the U.S., as we currently leverage it to power America’s #1 Sportsbook.

“IGT is the strategic partner that we will lean on to help us expand our retail footprint across the U.S. IGT’s PlaySports platform enables us to create an intuitive, technologically driven customer experience at our world-class retail sportsbooks for our customers, while its PlayCasino content enables FanDuel to deliver premium mobile casino entertainment in new and existing markets.”

The multi-year deal builds on the successful technology partnership that exists between the two companies and currently covers nine US states and includes FanDuel Sportsbook at Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment in East Rutherford, N.J., which according to IGT is the country’s highest-volume sportsbook.

Also expanded per the agreement is the distribution of IGT PlayDigital’s PlayCasino games that in addition to slots span roulette, blackjack, and more.

The NYC-headquartered firm is currently benefitting from best performing IGT PlayCasino games such as Triple Red Hot 7s Free Games, Wheel of Fortune® Triple Extreme Spin, and Red Hot Tamales! from its mobile wagering apps and websites in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

New levels:

Also commenting on the agreement, Senior Vice President for IGT PlayDigital, Enrico Drago, said…

“IGT’s multi-faceted, multi-year PlaySports platform technology and iGaming content agreement with FanDuel Group pairs the leading content and B2B sports betting provider with one of America’s most respected sports betting operators to propel an already winning partnership to new levels and create an abundance of opportunity for both parties.

“IGT and FanDuel Group are positioned for continued success in the U.S. and we are committed to fueling FanDuel Sportsbooks’ sustained growth through our proven, market-ready platform, player-preferred game content and self-service betting technologies.”

Fruitful partnership:

Together, the two companies have since 2018 achieved a variety of major performance milestones such as launching FanDuel Retail Sportsbooks in eight US states, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Iowa, West Virginia, Indiana, Mississippi, and Michigan.

They have also brought online sportsbooks to five US states including New Jersey, Indiana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Colorado while deploying 200-plus IGT PlaySports self-service kiosks at FanDuel sportsbooks throughout the US.

Illinois license:

Most recently, FanDuel Group along with rival DraftKings Incorporated were granted temporary operating permits by the Illinois Gaming Board. The awards come after Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker signed an executive order in June 2020, suspending a requirement where patrons had to sign up in person at a land-based venue before being able to register for a betting account.
