Svenska Spel’s focus on superior player experiences and their willingness to adopt new technologies complement IGT’s leadership in innovation. This is evidenced by more than a decade of shared success and deployments such as Svenska Spel’s IGTPay-powered cashless solution.”
New partnership with the Connecticut Lottery Corporation:
Just a day before extending its partnership with Sweden’s AB Svenska Spel, on May 31, IGT, specifically its subsidiary IGT Global Solutions Corporation, entered into an eight-year alliance with Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) to offer its iLottery gaming system (scheduled to debut in late fall of this year) and related components to CLC. Additionally, the aforementioned technology will allow CLC to sell keno and draw-based lottery games for the first time through the latest website and mobile app created by IGT. Moreover, the partnership is projected to last until May 2031 and involves four years of potential extension options.
Under the terms of the agreement, CLC will get IGT’s top iLottery system, which involves a comprehensive suite of solutions created to maximize back-end efficiency for the Lottery, as well as a natural and engaging player experience.
When describing IGT’s iLottery system, it represents a complete digital solution for all player-facing features and gaming capabilities and includes a full suite of advanced, customizable responsible gaming tools to enhance the options accessible to players. However, beside system, IGT will also produce a new mobile convenience app and website that will later be added with full functionality for CLC players to buy keno, multi-state jackpot games and Connecticut draw-based lottery games like Lotto!, Cash5, Play3 with Wild Ball and Play4 with Wild Ball.
During 2021, CLC showed its trust in IGT by presenting them with a long-term contract to become its primary technology supplier and install IGT’s powerful Aurora™ central lottery system, which was recently launched. However, this is nothing new, as IGT is internationally recognized leader in the lottery market and the primary technology provider for 25 lotteries in the US, eight of the world’s biggest 10 lotteries in the world and 16 of the world’s best 25 lotteries.
Commenting on the partnership, Gregory Smith, Connecticut Lottery Corporation President & CEO, said: “The CLC recognizes that today’s lottery player is looking for convenient and modern options to play their favorite games, and IGT’s iLottery system will allow us to offer our players the same great experiences they receive at retail in a responsible, digital format. We look forward to deploying this iLottery system and believe the expanded play options will be a welcome addition among our players.”
Srini Nedunuri, IGT Senior Vice President, Global iLottery, added: “IGT has a proven track record of delivering growth-driving solutions to our global lottery customers and we are excited to build upon this momentum by introducing iLottery to the CLC’s players. Our iLottery technology is backed by decades-long industry leadership. We will partner closely with the CLC over the next eight years to develop a world-class iLottery program and help to generate maximum funds to good causes within the State.”
