After back-to-back deals over the last 10 days, casino games development company, Red Tiger, has launched its Mystery Reels MegaWays video slot, the first title in its collaboration with Australian innovator, Big Time Gaming.

In October 2018, the online slot developer [Big Time Gaming] agreed a deal to license its random reel modifier system, MegaWays, to Red Tiger. The U.S. patented game mechanic sees a completely different range of symbols produced across every spin.

old-school feel but cutting-edge mechanics

MegaWays mechanic:

According to the official press release from the Malta-based firm, the new 6×7 video slot integrates the Surry Hills-headquartered developer‘s classic slot originally released in 2018, Mystery Reels, with the innovative MegaWays mechanics to see potential winnings of as much as 10,000x a player’s stake. The high variance online slot is Red Tiger’s first release to feature the metamorphosing MegaWays mechanic.

Unique safeguard:

The game has a default return to player ratio (RTP) of 96.18 percent and is played using a six-reel Megaways game engine complete with cascading reels capable of delivering up to 117,649 ways to win. During the bonus spins rounds, players can opt to collect eight casino spins or try their luck for up to 40. A safeguard in the game ensures that should the gamble be lost, the player is still awarded a minimum of four casino spins.

Player appeal:

Commenting on the classic fruit slot-themed release, Chief Executive Officer for Red Tiger, Gavin Hamilton, said…

“Mystery Reels MegaWays™ is a fun and immersive addition to our ever-expanding portfolio. With its old-school feel but cutting-edge mechanics and innovative features, such as the mystery symbol and the possibility to risk some free spins for further reward, we are sure it will appeal to players across the spectrum.”

Growing portfolio:

Red Tiger’s latest release joins the developer’s high-quality and fast-growing portfolio of more than 90 titles. Having become one of the industry’s leading providers, the addition of Megaways will likely see the Gzira-headquartered firm advance even further and their position strengthened much like Relax Gaming, Blueprint Gaming and SG interactive.

Dedicated MegaWays tab:

Recently, British based betting and gambling company, Ladbrokes, became the first to create a dedicated Megaways tab. The new tab will reportedly lay host to classic games from Big Time Gaming such as Bonanza and big brands including Battleship and Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and a slew of current and future licensees of the Megaways mechanic. Now including Red Tiger, the previously mentioned Blueprint Gaming, Relax, and SG, along with Storm, Kalamba, Fantasma and iSoftbet.

With more providers to be announced by the developer, 2019 looks to be an exciting year for Megaways slots and a major transition in player experience.
