Scientific Games Corporation has announced they have signed a contract with the Iowa Lottery for a ten-year time frame to be their new statewide gaming system provider. They will provide the lottery and 2,400 retail locations with tech services. The Iowa Lottery Authority Board voted for Scientific Games 5 to 0, with negotiations beginning immediately. The contract can also be extended for five more years if the lottery decides to do so. The new gaming system provided by the developer will be launched in the summer of 2021.

Best Choice:

The Iowa Lottery found Scientific Games to be the best choice for their business objectives which includes upgrading the technology from 2011. The change will take place with minimal disruption to the sale of games along with providing millions in revenues for programs that take place in the state to benefit residents.

The tech company won the contract after earning the highest overall score and being able to maximize funding for the beneficiaries of the lottery. By working with the company over the past eight years, the Iowa Lottery has seen $878 million in growth via total retail sales as well as an average of $109 million in growth each year.

According to a recent press release

Lottery Group CEO for Scientific Games, Pat McHugh, commented on the new contract by stating the company appreciates that the Iowa Lottery places their trust in them and their technology to continue to support programs that help make the state a great place to live.

Both sides are now working to finalize the contract details and plan on seamlessly switching to the new technology by next year.
