The Isle of Capri Bettendorf casino is ready for its scheduled Friday launch on 24th of June. After years of floating on Mississippi River, the gaming establishment is being moved on land or, more precisely, on the site where a former courtyard used to exist.
According to information provided by officials, the size of the casino is almost the same as the size of the riverboat venue. However, there’s a significant improvement when it comes to gaming options since the new casino will offer 1,000 slot machines and 19 table games.
The casino’s Vice President and General Manager, Nancy Ballenger, revealed that final testing was taking place and confirmed that the venue was ready for its grand opening scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, 24th of June. She also pointed out that the relocation of riverboat casinos has been ending a fabulous era. The Vice President highlighted that visitor’s expectations change over time and that operators must adapt their offer to their customers’ needs. She concluded that moving the casino to land would result in a “very convenient experience” for their patrons.
This project has cost the company a $60 million investment, but now, in addition to the improved gaming floor, customers of the Bettendorf complex will also get a chance to enjoy in a new bar, restaurants and a number of other facilities. Possibly the most important change will be the addition of two hotel towers that have a total of 514 hotel rooms. Considering the fact that the towers were built years ago, Isle of Capri invested $8.5 million on renovating the south hotel tower and refurbished almost all of the featured rooms.
The company also plans to build a pocket park around the property. As Ballenger announced, if the project is approved, the complex would offer its visitors the opportunity to get closer to the riverfront and enjoy seating areas, green space, fishing facilities and more.
