The World Poker Tour is a top poker brand that offers poker tournament gaming around the world. The tour stops at the best casinos in cities across the globe in order to provide quality poker gaming for players everywhere. The WPT recently announced they have now partnered with the Japan Poker Union Corporation to bring gaming to Japan. The first WPT Japan tour stop will take place this November with four events on the schedule.

Tokyo will play host to the first ever WPT Japan with the tour set to take place from the 23rd to the 26th of November. A venue has yet to be named but we do know that qualifiers will be offered at local poker clubs so players can earn their seats to the WPT events.

In a statement, the Japan Poker Union Corporation said they are very pleased to be working with the WPT on the brand new event known as WPT Japan. The group feels that the World Poker Tour is the perfect brand to help bring a new chapter for poker in Japan. Adam Pliska, the CEO of WPT, commented that the poker market of Japan is a flourishing one.

In the announcement provided by World Poker Tour regarding the new Japan stop, it was revealed that the prizes for the WPT Japan tournament events will be packages to future events of the tour. The Main Event winner in Japan will receive two packages; one for the Beijing Season XVII WPT Main Tour event and one for a WPT event in the Asia-Pacific region with the player choosing the tournament to participate in.

The tournaments offered as part of the WPT Japan will also provide players with the ability to qualify for the World Poker Tour Asia-Pacific Player of the Year leaderboard competition. The winner of the leaderboard will be provided with a $15,000 package that can be used for any Asia-Pacific WPT500 event, WPTDeepStacks or WPT Main Tour. The winner will be provided with complimentary accommodations plus ground transportation to and from events courteous of the WPT.
