Casino Barcelona is currently playing host to the 2018 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona, offering poker players a wide variety of tournament action. The €10,300 High Roller event recently finished up, with Michael Soyza earning the first place win after taking down Kai Lehto in heads-up play.

High Roller Action:

The Barcelona win would not be easy for Soyza, who was down to only 10 big blinds on Day 1. He fought back and hung in to make the final table, only to find himself losing a big chunk of his stack during the final day. In the end, he was able to hold on and make it to heads-up play to face off against Lehto.

As the final two would go head to head, Lehto would earn a big pot to shorten the gap to a 1 to 2 disadvantage. However, he would get no closer. Eventually, Lehto would go all-in with pocket deuces only to be called by Soyza who held Ace-eight. With an Ace on the flop, Soyza was in the lead, only to river a flush to earn the hand and the tournament win.

According to PokerNews…

Soyza now has plans to continue competing in the PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona by taking part in the Main Event, the last €10,300 High Roller as well as a few side events. The EPT stop still has a few more events to complete, including a Charity High Roller tournament.
