In Indiana and the digital subsidiary of American casino operator, Rush Street Gaming, has reportedly been authorized to launch a mobile sportsbetting service in partnership with the Midwestern state’s French Lick Resort.
According to a Wednesday report from The Indianapolis Star newspaper, the certification for Chicago-headquartered Rush Street Interactive came after the Indiana Gaming Commission determined that the enterprise had ‘substantially demonstrated’ the probity of its mobile sportsbetting operation with the service now set to go live from the morning of October 3.
Legislative largess:
The newspaper reported that the move follows the earlier ratification of two-tiered legislation that brought legalized land-based sportsbetting to the ‘Hoosier State’ with French Lick Casino having subsequently launched its own in-house sportsbook on September 6. The Orange County facility’s latest offering will purportedly allow customers to place wagers on a wide range of sporting events including American football, basketball and ice hockey using a mobile telephone or tablet computer so long as they are at least 21 years of age and physically located within the boundaries of Indiana.

The Indianapolis Star additionally reported that the Indiana Gaming Commission is requiring all licensed mobile sportsbetting operators to utilize geo-fencing technology in order to ensure locational compliance while punters will be obligated to provide personal information so as to establish an official account. The newspaper detailed that this process could see customers asked to submit their date of birth, e-mail address and the number of a credit or debit card alongside at least part of their social security number.
