The Kootenai and Confederated Salish Tribes are upgrading their gambling location in Montana. The tribes announced in the first week of July 2015 that they will spend $4.6 million to upgrade the KwaTaqNuk Resort Casino. It is located in Polson. The Nook restaurant has already gotten a new patio. The tribe is also working on renovating the hotel wing by adding new amenities. The Char-Koosta News stated the parking area will improve as well.

A separate gaming arm of the tribes, S&K Gaming, is going to spend $27 million to construct a new casino in Evaro to be named the Gray Wolf Peak Casino, as is the existing Missoula casino originally opened in 2007. Despite some controversy surrounding the casino project, the tribes are going to move forward. S&K has also purchased a marina and restaurant, which is located in Big Arm. It is 13 miles from KwaTaqNuk. The Big Arm location will not have gambling. The marina has 50 boat slips. The restaurant has also been very popular.
