For the first time ever, the National League of Poker (NLOP) is offering up a seat to the World Series of Poker Main Event. The WSOP is one of the most anticipated live tournament series on offer each year, with the Main Event being the most popular event of the series. The WSOP does not even start until May, but the NLOP has already decided to begin offering up qualifiers.
The Main Event Mania Tournament Series has begun at the NLOP and will run from now through the month of April. The final of this series will take place on the 22nd of April. Players can visit the online poker site and take part in the new tournament series to hopefully be one of the top three players, as these finishing positions will earn a seat to a WSOP event. The grand prize winner will be competing in the Main Event, with the $10,000 buy-in paid for by NLOP.
The NLOP was recently acquired by Cafrino and changes began instantly. The $10,000 Poker Summit was created and now the option to earn a seat to the Main Event of the WSOP. CEO of Cafrino and NLOP, Mike Murphy, stated in a CardPlayer report, that after the success of the Poker Summit, the company wanted to do something bigger, that would appeal to players. According to Murphy, ‘the chance to represent NLOP and play for millions seemed like a great option.’
When visiting the NLOP site, players will find the Main Event Mania option, with free Step 1 SNGs available now. Players will be competing their way to hopefully representing the NLOP during the WSOP Main Event.
