In a bit of corporate reshuffling, Dan Taylor, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for Dublin-based online and retail sportsbetting gaming operator Paddy Power Betfair’s (PPB:London) Europe operations, while Barni Evans will lead Sportsbet, having been named CEO of the group’s Australia operations.
Both newly appointed positions will report to Peter Jackson, the group’s chief executive, according to the national public service broadcaster of Ireland, RTÉ.ie.
A newly created position within the company, Dan Taylor will reportedly be responsible for both the Paddy Power and Betfair brands across all geographies and channels outside of the US.
Prior to the current appointment, Taylor was managing director for the Group’s Ireland and UK operations. Before that, Taylor was reportedly managing director for Paddy Power Retail.
Having led Sportsbet since being acquired in 2009, Cormac Barry has reportedly decided to step down in order that he may pursue a career beyond the industry, having been appointed CEO of CarTrawler. Barry will assume the role at the travel tech platform in April, according to RTÉ.ie.
Replacing Barry, Barni Evans has, over the last seven years, played a pivotal role in the success of Sportsbet. Evans, who joined the business in 2011 as chief marketing officer, is currently Chief Commercial Officer for Sportsbet.
