After premiering its Yggdrasil Game Server (YGS) Masters initiative last month, online casino games developer Yggdrasil Gaming Limited recently announced a partnership that will see Manchester and Stockholm-based Northern Lights Gaming develop on its platform as part of the program.

The independent firm is the first of its kind to develop on Yggdrasil’s invite-only, semi-open platform and will see its UK-facing, high-quality slots content accessible to the operator partners of the Cherry AB subsidiary. From the platform, Yggdrasil will reportedly oversee content from leading independent games studios, according to the news release.

Via the program, developers will be given access to Malta-based Yggdrasil’s Boost collection of in-game promotional tools for the purposes of developing unique editions of these innovations before being permitted to run their own network campaigns.

Formed in 2017, Northern Lights’ leading UK-focused gaming content will substantially strengthen Yggdrasil’s offering.

Head of Studio Partnerships at Yggdrasil, Stuart McCarthy, said that since last month’s launch, they’ve had “many enquires” and he is “thrilled to announce our first partnership.”

McCarthy went on to say, “Northern Lights Gaming has built a team with unparalleled expertise when it comes to developing for the UK market, and we’ve been hugely impressed by what we’ve seen so far.

“We are certain YGS Masters will help take Northern Lights’ content to the next level, and we are excited to share the games with customers in the coming months.”

For his part, Andrew Goodale, CEO for Northern Lights Gaming, said: “As we are finishing off our first games and preparing to show them to the world, we are extremely proud to be the first external game developer to gain access to Yggdrasil’s innovative platform.

“We look forward to building a close working relationship with Yggdrasil and making the most of the powerful tools they have developed. These are exciting times for Northern Lights Gaming.”

Founded by ex-Barcrest and WMS executives, Northern Lights Gaming (NL Gaming Sweden AB) has decades of experience at the forefront of the online gaming industry and its team members are responsible for some of the most successful desktop and mobile capable games in the UK, including Rainbow Riches.
