In hopes of expanding its sportsbetting business around the globe, Austrian gaming giant, Novomatic AG, has announced the hiring of experienced industry professional, Felipe Ludena (pictured), to serve as its new International Sportsbetting Director.

Hire part of ‘international expansion strategy’:

The Gumpoldskirchen-headquartered firm revealed the appointment via an official Tuesday press release and stated that the move was all part of its pursuit of ‘an international expansion strategy in the sportsbetting sector.’

Possible United States move:

Harald Neumann, Chief Executive Officer for Novomatic AG, declared that he was ‘pleased’ to have added Ludena to his firm’s team before proclaiming that the hire should help the innovator to further expand its sportbettting business across Europe and take advantage of ‘activities in this business segment for the first time’ in the United States.

Neumann’s statement read…

“To do this, we need experts with excellent management skills. With Felipe Ludena, we are looking to play a major role in shaping the sportsbetting market.”

Grand ambitions:

Novomatic AG currently offers sportsbetting services primarily in the countries of Germany, Switzerland and Austria through its Admiral Sportwetten GmbH subordinate. It explained that Ludena will be tasked with helping it to develop a fresh approach and possibly create new sports wagering propositions so that it can become a major player in the sector.

Grupo Codere experience:

Novomatic AG detailed that Ludena’s previous experience includes a seven-year spell in charge of the ‘Spanish online business unit’ for Grupo Codere where he was involved in helping this firm to grow its sportsbetting activities in Latin American nations such as Panama, Mexico and Colombia.

Ludena’s statement read…

“Novomatic AG’s pioneering spirit has always fascinated me. It is of course a particularly exciting task to be able to develop the international sportsbetting business for one of the world’s largest gaming technology groups.”
