Following six months of conversion work, international gaming firm Novomatic AG has announced that last week saw its Admiral Sportwetten GmbH subsidiary officially open Europe’s largest sports bar in the Prater district of central Vienna.
Novomatic AG declared that the new 14,531 sq ft Austrian venue, which has been christened the Admiral Arena Prater, was designed to resemble an American sports bar and features a 452 sq ft video wall that will broadcast a host of sporting events daily from 9 o’clock in the morning until midnight. It stated that this wall has an approximate length of 49 feet alongside a height of around ten feet and consists of 180 individual panels with a total of 4.6 million LED image points that can be split into different screens.
“This means that, for instance, all UEFA Champions League games playing at the same time can be broadcast together; this broadcasting possibility is unique in Europe,” read a statement from Harald Neumann, Chief Executive Officer for Novomatic AG.
Novomatic AG proclaimed that the new two-story venue also comes complete with a semi-circular bar featuring a 161.4 sq ft video wall and some 70 sportsbetting terminals alongside a dedicated horseracing area.
“A selection of grand prix race courses can be tested on a Red Bull Racing seat and an entertainment stage is available for all kinds of events,” read a statement from Gumpoldskirchen-based Novomatic AG. “The high-tech furnishings around the whole arena enable every show to be broadcast simultaneously across all screens and LED walls. The interior furnishings are also exceptional and exclusive in Austria. Guests can take a seat on comfortable furniture designed to reflect different sports such as baseball, tennis or football.”
Finally, Novomatic AG explained that the new Admiral Arena Prater moreover offers breakfast and lunch menus alongside a “comprehensive range of culinary delights” prepared by chef Alexander Zerava such as crispy chicken wings as well as classic burgers and steaks.
“This is accompanied by draft beers including dedicated draft pumps on the tables with trendy craft beers as well as fresh lemonade with honey, ginger or basil,” read the statement from Novomatic AG.
