Las Vegas-based NYX Gaming Group Limited (TSXV: NYX), a leading digital gaming provider, has appointed Steve Mayes, former Commercial Director for Playtech’s Open Platform, as its new Third Party Sales Director.

The appointment further strengthens the commercial team of the market-leading supplier to sportsbook, casino, bingo and lottery operators globally.

Mayes comes to NYX from Playtech, where prior to his most recent role as Commercial Director for the firm’s Open Platform and third party game providers, he was part of the Ash Gaming Commercial team, according to the press release. Prior to that, Mayes was reportedly employed at bet365, working various management and operational roles.

As Third Party Sales Director for NYX Gaming Group, Mayes will be tasked with growing the company’s network of third party suppliers including payment providers, trading services and game developers across its casino, sportsbook, bingo and lottery operations.

Mayes said he was thrilled with the appointment and that NYX has a “fantastic customer base and a growing partner network with many of the leading suppliers in the industry.” He went on to say: “My focus will be to work closely with our internal product leads and partners across the business to implement a clear third-party strategy. “It’s important that NYX continues to attract and build long-term relationships with best-of-breed suppliers across casino, sportsbook and our full portfolio of products to offer the best possible third-party network for our customers,” according to the news release.

Matt Davey, CEO for NYX Gaming Group, said the company is pleased to welcome Mayes to the team “where he will have an integral role within our strategy that will further improve the products we offer our customers. Davey also commented on Mayes’ “extensive experience in the betting and gaming industry following his time at bet365 and Playtech. He will be a valuable member of our third-party network and we look forward to working alongside him.”
