Yesterday saw the new owner of the Ocean Resort Casino sign a franchise deal with Hyatt Hotels Corporation that will see the coming Atlantic City property become the latest member of the American hotel giant’s The Unbound Collection By Hyatt brand.
Previously named TEN Atlantic City until it was sold for $200 million to an entity known as AC Ocean Walk LLC in January and rechristened, the 6.4 million sq ft Ocean Resort Casino expects to re-open for business in the summer and will now have every one of its 1,399 hotel rooms managed by Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
“It is an honor for us to join forces with one of the world’s most renowned hotel brands; Hyatt Hotels Corporation,” read a Monday statement from Bruce Deifik, Chairman for AC Ocean Walk LLC.
Owned by Deifik’s Denver-based Integrated Properties Incorporated commercial and real estate development concern, AC Ocean Walk LLC explained that the agreement will also see Hyatt Hotels Corporation open a 32,000 sq ft franchise of its newly-acquired Exhale spa and fitness brand inside the Ocean Resort Casino featuring 32 treatment rooms alongside a retail boutique and a mind body studio.
“Hyatt [Hotels Corporation] has an incredible 60-plus-year legacy in the industry and its loyal global customer base will have access to an authentic way to experience all that makes Atlantic City attractive and popular,” read the statement from Deifik. “We are thrilled and proud to be joining The Unbound Collection By Hyatt portfolio as we prepare for the resort’s opening this summer.”
Alongside its luxury rooms and Exhale franchise, AC Ocean Walk LLC detailed that the 60-story Ocean Resort Casino is furthermore set to open complete with 160,000 sq ft of indoor convention and meeting space and a 138,000 sq ft casino featuring some 2,000 slots as well as approximately 100 gaming tables. There is to moreover be five pools on the 20-acre site in addition to an outdoor sun deck, cabanas and a range of dining and drinking options from restaurateurs LDV Hospitality and Garces Group.
“The unique value Ocean Resort Casino brings to Atlantic City is the overall attention to detail and investment made in its design, fixtures and features, which will be optimized as we develop the overall guest experience,” read the statement from Deifik. “The resort’s prime location on Atlantic City’s famed Boardwalk will offer guests the best of this vibrant destination.”
For his part, David Tarr, Americas Development Senior Vice-President for Chicago-headquartered Hyatt Hotels Corporation, declared that he was ‘excited’ to affiliate The Unbound Collection By Hyatt brand with the Ocean Resort Casino before revealing that the deal marks his firm’s premiere in Atlantic City.
“AC Ocean Walk LLC’s spectacular resort will establish a new standard on Atlantic City’s storied Boardwalk, making it a fitting addition to The Unbound Collection By Hyatt portfolio,” read a statement from Tarr.
