The Skyline Restaurant & Casino in Henderson, Nevada is ready to undergo a big change. The Boulder Highway casino has been in business for decades and the owners and staff know most of the customers by name. Ground was broken in May on a new addition, a three-story hotel wing.
According to a report in the Las Vegas Sun, the 51 room addition should open by February 2017 and is only the first phase of a $10 million expansion planned for the property. Rather than seeking the millennial market, the Skyline seems to be adding amenities for their longtime customers and their families. Of course travelers will stop in as well once the new hotel opens.
The Skyline is an old-school venue where you can still get breakfast for $1.49 and a prime rib dinner for under $6. The casino’s 85 slot machines still operate on coins
According to the report, there’s plenty of economic development near the Skyline including a planned community, a waterpark, and a new hospital.
