iGaming Business – Irish bookmaker Paddy Power is to remove its social sports betting game BetDash from its gaming product inventory.

According to various reports, the BetDash.com website has been ‘down for scheduled maintenance’ for a number of weeks while the bookmaker has revised its social gaming strategy.

First unveiled in October 2012, Paddy Power planned to use BetDash’s social betting product BetPal to enter into the social gaming market.

Aided by Paddy Power social media campaigns and various other promotions, the social sports betting product rewarded players with weekly prizes for the correct predictions on a number of different sports events.
