PENN Entertainment Inc., a flagship global multi-platform sports entertainment firm, has revealed that it will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its latest hotel, which is planned to be tied to the Hollywood Casino Columbus. Additionally, the time and date of the aforementioned ceremony is November 28 this year at 1 pm.

The hotel, an investment that is calculated to be worth roughly $100 million, will be tied to an existing facility as mentioned above and will officially contribute hundreds of construction jobs and roughly 100 fresh permanent positions of employment as soon as it opens its doors. In addition, it is slated to involve meeting space, 180 rooms, an extra restaurant and local amenities and alliances to be revealed afterward.
Commenting on the new hotel and groundbreaking ceremony in general, PENN Entertainment President and CEO, Jay Snowden, commented according to BusinessWire: “We are thrilled to soon begin construction on a new, state-of-the-art hotel at Hollywood Casino Columbus. Since opening in 2012, our Columbus property has experienced tremendous growth, and the addition of a hotel at Hollywood Casino Columbus will create a true regional destination.”

We can’t wait to begin hiring new team members and welcoming more visitors from around the region to showcase our new hotel and the excitement of Hollywood Casino Columbus.”
Furthermore, this latest hotel project is a piece of a formerly disclosed plan, comprised of 4 newest expansion projects that involve fresh land-based casinos in Joliet, Illinois and Aurora and an extra hotel tower at Henderson, Nevada. As for the first project in Aurora, the city will secure $50 million in financing to complete the project. But that’s not all; because Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc., pledged up to $575 million specially for a total budget of $850 million for all 4 expansion projects.
