A week after launching its Contact three-dimensional video slot and Swedish online casino games developer, Play‘n Go, has now expanded its portfolio even further via the premiere of its Mahjong 88 innovation.
Chinese cheer:
The Vaxjo-headquartered firm used an official Thursday press release to detail that Mahjong 88 is themed around the 19th-Century parlor game invented in China and is enjoyed on an eight-by-eight grid with players awarded with up to 500 times their stake for matching identical tiles horizontally and vertically.
Flower power:
Play‘n Go explained that the mobile-friendly title is played out on a green-colored backdrop and comes complete with low-paying tiles emblazoned with representations of the numbers one to six. The developer also stated that these are joined by four higher-value icons representing pink, red, yellow and lotus blue flower arrangements while aficionados may access even higher rewards by collecting four run-linked Seasonal Wild symbols.
Thrilling twist:
Unlike more traditional reel-based video slots, the developer declared that its latest innovation sees any matched tiles disappearing from its eight-by-eight board in order to be substituted by replacements that ‘appear from underneath.’ It moreover proclaimed that the game, which features a return-to-player rate of 96.62%, offers competitors the chance to ‘progress through the four seasons’ before possibly being awarded with a special Season Bonus icon.
Modern makeover:
Johan Tornqvist, Chief Executive Officer for the brand, used the press release to describe its latest release as combining ‘a classic pastime with the modern entertainment of slot gaming’ that is sure to ‘cater to a large slot audience’ courtesy of its ability to appeal to ‘casual and seasoned slot players.’
Tornqvist’s statement read…
“We’re very proud of what we have created here with Mahjong 88. Not only is it our very first eight-by-eight grid slot but we carefully curated the design to add a rich authenticity to the mahjong-based theme. It’s no secret that we’re going to be putting out a high number of games this year and this is just one example of the high quality and innovation that every single title will carry.”
