Play’n GO, a global leader in casino gaming, has announced a new partnership with PointsBet, a prominent operator in Ontario. This collaboration expands Play’n GO’s reach in the Canadian market, bringing its popular slot titles, such as Book of DeadRich Wilde and the Tome of Madness, and Reactoonz, to PointsBet’s platform.

The move solidifies Play’n GO’s presence in Ontario’s regulated online gaming market, which opened in 2022 and marked the company’s Canadian debut. Earlier this year, Play’n GO expanded into Quebec and, as of June 2024, became a member of the Canadian Gaming Association, further highlighting its commitment to the region.

Strengthening entertainment in a growing market:

Magnus Olsson, Chief Commercial Officer at Play’n GO, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating in the company’s press release, “Back in 2022, I said that ‘North America is right at the top of Play’n GO’s priority list, and Ontario is just the first step we plan to take.’ This partnership with PointsBet shows we have yet to take our foot off the gas.”

Olsson praised the reception of Play’n GO’s games in Ontario, emphasizing their success over the past two and a half years. “It’s exciting to team up with a fellow Canadian Gaming Association member in PointsBet,” he added, highlighting the shared vision of building a safe, regulated industry centered on player satisfaction.

PointsBet CEO Scott Vanderwel echoed these sentiments, applauding Play’n GO’s reputation for delivering high-quality content. “At PointsBet, our focus is on providing a safe and engaging entertainment experience for our players, and it’s clear that Play’n GO aligns with those values,” Vanderwel said. The partnership, he added, enhances the premium iGaming experience that PointsBet players have come to expect.

Sustainability and global recognition:

While this partnership underscores Play’n GO’s strategic focus on North America, it also comes as the company earns accolades for its sustainability initiatives. Earlier this year, Play’n GO received the Malta Gaming Authority’s ESG-C Tier 2 Seal for its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts.

The recognition followed the release of Play’n GO’s 2023 Sustainability Report, which outlined commitments to “Net Zero” carbon goals, greener operational practices, and fostering a “Culture of Belonging” in a digital-first world. The company also became the only iGaming business nominated at the 2024 Corporate Star Awards, where its sustainability efforts were recognized alongside global brands like SONY Entertainment.

Vanessa Arenram, Play’n GO’s CSR Director, emphasized the company’s commitment to impactful action. “Our 2023 Sustainability Report received very positive feedback, both internally and externally, and we look forward to publishing the 2024 version early next year,” Arenram stated.
