Hard on the heels of releasing its Cat Wilde and the Doom of Dead video slot, Swedish online casino games developer Play’n GO has now returned to announce the launch of its new five-reel and ten-payline Nyjah Huston: Skate for Gold title.
The Vaxjo-headquartered innovator used an official Thursday press release to detail that its latest video slot was developed in partnership with Danish compatriot 5th Planet Games and is themed around the exploits of American skateboarding superstar Nyjah Huston.
Inventive involvement:
Play’n GO stated that the mobile-friendly Nyjah Huston: Skate for Gold marks the first time it has ever collaborated with a professional athlete and that the video slot was designed to capture the more traditional roots of skateboarding by ‘replicating the colorful and artistic graffiti style’ that has been synonymous with the sport for many decades. The developer moreover declared that the ‘highly stylized’ game has a 96.2% return-to-player ratio and ‘brings the skill and excitement of pulling off combos onto the reels’.
High hopes:
With a collection of six World Skateboarding Championship gold medals to his name, 25-year-old Huston is commonly considered to be one of the greatest skateboarders of all time. The California native could very well add to this stellar reputation in Tokyo next year as his sport makes its inaugural Summer Olympics appearance.
Surprising subject:
Johan Tornqvist, Chief Executive Officer for Play’n GO, used the press release to pronounce that Nyjah Huston: Skate for Gold also offers ‘some exciting new features’ that serve as its ‘crowning achievements’. He explained that the three-row title‘s Skate and Wildboard bonus innovations challenge aficionados to amass eponymous icons so as to release animated skateboarders that will leave trails of wilds in their wakes as they kick and flip across the reels.
Read a statement from Tornqvist…
“We knew we wanted to work with the best when creating this game and Nyjah represents that. This is a theme very rarely explored in the world of slots and it certainly hasn’t been approached from this angle before. But that’s a part of our commitment to bringing new gaming experiences to players and new audiences to slot gaming.”
