Since opening on February 8th, the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady has been very popular. Every aspect of the casino has seen traffic but the poker room has been particularly busy. With 15 tables, the poker room doesn’t seem to have enough room for players who want to hit the felt, especially during the weekend hours. To try and offer more poker gaming, casino officials announced some time ago they would begin offering weekday morning poker tournaments in the near future. That time is now as the casino is set to start hosting events today.

No Limit Hold’em poker tournaments are scheduled for 9:30 am for the rest of the month, each weekday morning, Monday to Thursday. The facility could not begin offering such tournaments until the New York State Gaming Commission had provided approval.

Players will find the early morning events give them an added option for enjoying poker tournament gaming at the venue. On Mondays, the poker room will also hold a second tournament at 6:30 pm. Ten players are allowed per table and buy-ins will be set at $75. This is for the standard No Limit Hold’em poker tournaments.

The New York casino will also be hosting No Limit Hold’em Bounty tournaments as well, with this tournament type taking place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. These tournaments will have an additional buy-in of $25. With the higher fee, players will be given a bounty chip which will provide an added prize element and will be given to the player who does the eliminating, narrowing down the field until just one player remains.

Information on the new poker tournaments at the Rivers Casino can be viewed at the poker room web page for the site or found on location at the poker room.
