Business Wire – Resorts Casino Hotel released their second quarter earnings report noting a 244% increase to their earnings year over year. Additionally, Resorts noted a nearly 12% increase to hotel occupancy and a 40% jump in food revenues.

“We are very encouraged by the Q2 earnings report,” said Morris Bailey, Owner of Resorts. “The success of not only this property, but of Atlantic City – the town I grew up in – is of top importance to me. The horizon is bright at Resorts and I foresee a much healthier Atlantic City in the future as our city continues to develop into a world class regional destination.”

Mark Giannantonio, President & CEO of Resorts Casino Hotel added, “All of the hard work from our dedicated team members, combined with management expertise of the Mohegan Gaming Advisors, as well as the completion of a major expansion featuring new dining and entertainment, are really starting to pay off.”

In 2013, Resorts completed a $70 million renovation throughout the entire casino to reposition the property for future success within the competitive Atlantic City market. Most notably, the enhancements included the all new Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville entertainment complex featuring the Margaritaville Restaurants, LandShark Bar & Grill, 5 O’Clock Somewhere Casino Bar, Margaritaville Coffee Shop, two retail shops and new slot and table gaming areas.

Additional renovations were made to hotel rooms, the Boardwalk façade, player lounges, casino floor reconfigurations, a remodeled Ballroom for events and trade shows, the addition of an all new high-limit slot area, upgraded Wi-Fi service and seven new retail shops! Most recently, the casino also opened the Quick Bites food court featuring Five new eateries.

“We continue to look towards the bright horizon ahead as we move towards the next phase of Resorts with online gaming,” Giannantonio added.

Resorts recently launched a free online gaming site for guests 21 and over., created by Sportech-NYX Gaming LLC (SNG), currently features nearly 30 slot games exclusive to Resorts Casino Hotel. The casino also anticipates launching their next phase of the website which will include a variety of table games such as roulette, blackjack and more.

Back in July 2013, Resorts announced that it had reached an agreement with Rational Services Limited (Rational) to make the PokerStars and FullTilt brands available in New Jersey. PokerStars will offer poker and FullTilt will offer both casino games and poker. That agreement continues and is pending regulatory approval.
