Resorts World Manila has been named as the 2016 host of the Asian Poker Tour during the month of April. From the 13th to the 21st, the casino will play host to the APT as it returns to the Philippines. APT Chief Executive, Jeff Mann, stated that the APT is pleased to be working with the Resorts World Manila for the seventh year in a row for the APT Philippines event.
Mann reported in a statement on the upcoming APT event that this will actually mark the 14th time an APT event has taken place at the Resorts World Manila. Thousands of players from countries around the world have taken part in the events, with prize money going above the $10 million mark, making the Resorts World Manila a popular venue for the APT.
This week, the casino is hosting the APT Asian Poker Series Manila 2015 and the winner should be named by this evening. 341 players registered to compete in the event with only 8 moving on to the final table. The first place winner will earn $81,365 and will have bragging rights until 2016.
The Travellers International Hotel Group Inc are the operators of Resorts World Manila, a group that is a joint venture of the Genting Hong Kong Ltd and the Alliance Global Group. The resort is currently involved in an expansion project with the first quarter of next year seeing the beginning of the second phase of the expansion.
