GVC Holdings recently announced that their fully owned subsidiary, Headlong Limited, has been granted a 10-year license within Romania. The Romanian National Gaming Office granted a full and permanent license to the company, allowing the group the option to operate sports betting as well as casino games. On top of licensing, the group was provided with an additional Class 2 license which will allow GVC to provide software, hosting services and affiliate marketing for Headlong.
GVC was previously operating in Romania with their Sportingbet brand under terms of an interim license. This license was granted in 2015 on the 1st of September. The new license came into effect a year from that date, on the 1st of September of this year.
GVC Chief Executive, Kenneth Alexander, stated that GVC is delighted to have been awarded the permanent license in Romania. Alexander pointed out that Sportingbet is continuing to be popular in the area and the company is focused on developing the product line in the country to be able to grow business and attract new customers.
