According to a report in Asia Gaming Brief, citing local sources, Marianas Entertainment LLC is planning to open another gaming venue on the Northern Marianas island of Saipan. No details were available as to location or number of machines they plan to offer.

Gus Noble, manager of Club 88, located on the first floor of Saipan Ocean View Hotel in Garapan, is quoted as saying that a license has been issued for a new venue and that they have that venue.

Earlier this month, Strategic Gaming Solutions Inc. operators of Club C gaming at the Kanoa Resort in Susupe, sued the Department of Finance for authorizing the Club 88 gaming venue. The lawsuit filed in Superior Court seeks to stop the operation, claiming the location doesn’t meet requirements in the Tourism Entertainment and Destination Act of 2013 (Public Law 18-30) that requires a minimum of 100 hotel rooms or an attached golf course.

Club 88 contends they received a license about a year ago with 101 rooms certified by affidavits and physically counted by Finance on two occasions.

The complaint reportedly relies on information from the Marianas Visitors Authority that the Hotel opened in 1987 with 87 rooms and added 3 rooms in 2014.
