American gaming machine and systems innovator, Scientific Games Corporation has announced the signing of an agreement that will see it provide the Pennsylvania Lottery with a range of mobile and online lottery games.
The Las Vegas-based firm stated that the deal means that players in Pennsylvania will soon be offered the chance to win a maximum of $250,000 while enjoying games including those from its recently-acquired NYX Gaming Group Limited subsidiary such as Cash Buster Towers, Volcano Eruption, Big Money Slingo, Bigfoot and Super Cash Buster via their desktop and tablet computers or through a mobile device.
Scientific declared that the arrangement, which only became possible after late-October saw Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Wolf, sign expanded gaming legislation into law, is to see the state of almost 13 million people become only the seventh United States jurisdiction to begin offering inhabitants the ability to bank cash prizes via online lottery games.
Pat McHugh, Global Lottery Systems Senior Vice-President for the supplier, proclaimed that his firm has ‘a long history of investing in innovative games, technology and services’ in order to ‘maximize lottery funds to benefit older Pennsylvanians.’ He explained that the company’s relationship with the Pennsylvania Lottery had created ‘one of the highest performing lotteries in the world’ and resulted in the operator handing over almost $28 billion to state-run elderly-facing programs since 1972.
“Now we are thrilled to combine Scientific Games [Corporation] and NYX [Gaming Group Limited’s] market-leading capabilities to offer entertaining digital games to Pennsylvania Lottery players and to continue our support of Pennsylvania Lottery retailers with the iLottery affiliate program,” read a Wednesday statement (pdf) from McHugh.
Regarding this affiliate program, Scientific detailed that it is to partner with some 9,400 Pennsylvania Lottery retailers in order to help encourage players to enjoy its range of online titles. However, the innovator pronounced that it expects more traditional in-store games to remain as ‘the foundation of its business and proceeds to benefit older adults.’
“Pennsylvania iLottery games are a fun [and] new way to play and win from home or while on the go,” read a statement from Drew Svitko, Executive Director for the Pennsylvania Lottery. “iLottery is a big part of our effort to meet our players where they already are while generating new funds to benefit older Pennsylvanians.”
