American lottery and gaming machines innovator, Scientific Games Corporation, has announced the debut of its latest land-based slot themed around the 1939 musical fantasy film, The Wizard of Oz, in the five-reel and 50-payline Munchkinland.

Enveloping entertainment:

The Las Vegas-headquartered developer used an official Wednesday press release to detail that Munchkinland is being presented in its immersive Gamefield 2.0 cabinet and comes complete with scenes and characters from the classic American film including the malevolent Wicked Witch of the East and the bewildered Dorothy.

Progressive prizes:

Scientific Games stated that the new Muchkinland slot is its first casino game themed on The Wizard of Oz to feature characters that have been rendered three-dimensionally and moreover offers access to the ‘life-changing’ There’s No Place Like Home wide-area progressive jackpot.

Aerial activation:

In terms of gameplay, the innovator revealed that a flying Wicked Witch of the East serves as the star of a special randomly-triggered feature that could see the game’s reels expand to encompass twelve rows complete with wilds that further increase the chances of a lucrative win. It also proclaimed that the subsequent appearance of Tornado Wild reels will encourage Lollipop Wild icons to emerge so as to display an even higher range of jackpots and credit prizes.

Bonus bonanza:

Bob Parente, Chief Revenue Officer and Senior Vice-President for SG Corp, explained that Munchkinland furthermore has a special bonus game that is triggered by amassing at least three bonus symbols. He declared that this attraction starts with ‘a wheel spin where character wedges award a corresponding jackpot and an additional spin’ before possibly continuing with a band of parading munchkins dishing out ‘three active enhancements’ consisting of multipliers, Lollipop Wilds and wild reels.
