After announcing last year that it would be expanding into Germany, online gambling and sports betting provider Sky Betting and Gaming has now begun the process of hiring talent ahead of the launch of its Sky Bet Deutschland enterprise.
The British firm revealed that it is looking to fill four marketing and legal positions for its new German subsidiary, which is to be based in Munich, along with nine native-speaking contact center roles. Sky Betting and Gaming additionally explained that it may also be looking to fill four new technology posts to work alongside its already 50-strong international team headquartered in the South Yorkshire city of Sheffield.
“We are really excited about the opportunity available within the German market,” read a statement from Richard Flint, Chief Executive Officer for Sky Betting And Gaming. “These new hires will allow us to press ahead with our plans to launch there later this year. The fact that we are in a position to [begin hiring] so soon after looking into the market is a testament to our international team and the positive relationship they have developed with Sky Bet Deutschland.”
September saw Sky Betting and Gaming declare that Jochen Weiner had been appointed to serve as Managing Director for its Sky Bet Deutschland enterprise and the former Scientific Games Corporation executive is due to manage all of the new Germany-facing employees.
“Since joining I’ve been impressed with the way colleagues have pulled together to get us ready to launch a real-money product so quickly,” read a statement from Weiner. “There is clearly a healthy market in Germany and we look forward to entering it soon.”
