After inking a new gambling deal with the state over the summer, the Seminole Tribe of Florida has now reportedly unveiled a billion-dollar re-development plan that will see its Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood venue completely transformed.

According to a report from the Sun-Sentinel newspaper, the $1.5 billion project is to involve the construction of a 450-foot tall guitar-shaped hotel tower offering some 638 rooms and suites alongside a second lower-level building featuring a minimum of 160 units.

The newspaper reported that the re-development, which is due to be finished by the summer of 2019, will take the total room count at the south Florida facility to over 1,300 while the new guitar-shaped tower is to moreover feature a 41,000 sq ft spa as well as several lounges and restaurants.

“We think the building itself will be must-see attraction,” James Allen, Chief Executive Officer for the tribe’s Seminole Gaming enterprise, reportedly told the Sun-Sentinel. “It will be the first building in the world that’s truly to scale designed as an authentic guitar. So it’s not just an exterior facade, the curving of the building will be identical to an authentic guitar.”

The newspaper reported that the ambitious plan will also see the size of the existing gaming floor inside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood doubled in order to accommodate a total of 3,267 slots as well as some 178 gaming tables.
