In past years, the Betting on Sports conference has attracted sportsbook operators from the UK, Central and Eastern Europe, US, Canada, Africa, Asia, and Australia. This year’s event is shaping up to be no different in that respect as SBC Events prepares for the industry’s largest and possibly most important get-together Thursday 15th and Friday 16th September at The Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in London.

Valery Bollier (Oulala Co-Founder & CEO), Shergul Arshad (Mondogoal Founder & CEO) and Ubaldo Baldi (Skill Games & DFS manager at Lottomatica) of the fantasy sports industry will join some 70 other speakers at the two-day event and explore the pathways and trade ideas on how DFS operators and bookmakers can work together in a market that faces increasing regulation and oversight.

Networking opportunities in the expanding market will allow participants to discuss the  latest trends and developments in an environment featuring focused discussion as well as more informal exchanges of information.

Shergul Arshad of Mondogoal shared his thoughts on the event to be held next week when he commented: “I’m very excited for Betting on Sports. Everything has its timing as far as industry cycles go, and the next six months will be the time for daily fantasy sports and sports betting sites teaming up. We’re leading the way with the deals with SISAL and Lottomatica in Italy, and both of these have seen good responses to their initial competitions based on Euro 2016.”

These are important and even transforming developments in the industry but Betting on Sports 2016 is hardly a one-dimensional conference.

Delegates will be given unique expert insights into the horse racing industry with the ‘Starter’s Orders’ panel; Featuring the Executive Director from Celton Manx/SBOBet, Bill Mummery and chaired by Gaming Economics Founder & CEO, Lee Richardson. Highlights of the panel discussion will include the newly introduced Authorised Betting Partners (ABP) as well as possible impacts on the UK market from Brexit.

Old salts and rising stars will take the stage. LeoVegas CEO, Johan Styren will share his experience so far about unique selling points of their new sportsbook, LeoVegas’s plans for the rest of the year and beyond,  and how the company expects to define and thrive in its industry niche.

Styren commented: “We have already built a mobile casino that is worth shouting about and in doing so we have garnered a lot of experience and learned a great deal. Now we are using those gained skills to offer a great mobile sportsbook. We have kept in mind what really worked for our mobile casino, and integrated that whilst designing LeoVegas Sport.”

Compliance will be another area explored in depth in light of new European directives on money laundering and data protection making their way into law. Former UK Gambling Commission CEO Jenny Williams, Roy Ramm (ExtraYard), David Clifton and Suzanne Davies (Clifton Davies Consultancy) will lead up an interactive workshop for operators, marketers, and compliance professionals.
