American casino operator Delaware North Companies Incorporated has announced that it will soon begin offering sportsbetting at its two venues in West Virginia after inking an agreement with mobile sports wagering technologies provider Miomni Gaming.

West Virginia roll-outs:

The Buffalo-headquartered firm used an official Wednesday press release to reveal that the deal is due to see Miomni Gaming provide it with turnkey retail and mobile sportsbetting services that it hopes to have rolled out at its Mardi Gras Casino and Resort and Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack properties before the end of the year.

Potential for expansion:

Delaware North Companies Incorporated explained that Miomni Gaming is to additionally serve as the exclusive omni-channel platform technology provider for any subsequent sportsbooks it may decide to debut at its other gambling venues in the states of Ohio, Arkansas, New York, Arizona and Illinois.

Casinos feature ‘high visibility’ spaces:

At its two properties in West Virginia, the casino firm declared that it has created ‘spaces with flexible configurations and high visibility’ to host the coming sportsbooks. It detailed that these areas will ‘foster a casual sports bar atmosphere’ thanks to their social seating arrangements and proximity to food and beverage facilities.

Kim Florence, General Manager for Mardi Gras Casino and Resort and Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack stated that both sportsbooks will offer ‘a high-energy [and] high-participation atmosphere’ with an events calendar that is to be focused on major sporting events.

Florence’s statement read…

“We think this will become a great draw to bring people from across the state and outside of West Virginia to experience these exciting resorts.”

Hoping to ‘become a leader’:

Brian Hansberry from Delaware North Companies Incorporated, described Miomni Gaming as ‘a recognized expert firm on the technology side’ before proclaiming that the arrangement is set to see his company ‘become a leader in the emerging sports wagering sector in the United States.”

Hansberry’s statement read…

“We are a hospitality business with operations in nearly 40 states. We have extensive regulated gaming expertise and experience, both through our own holdings and as a business-to-business services provider for our partners. Leaders in West Virginia were proactive in positioning the state for sports wagering, so Delaware North Companies Incorporated with two casinos in West Virginia, is now very much part of a first wave of operators.”

Operator to turn provider:

Hansberry stated that his firm is also partnering with Miomni Gaming in order to provide a business-to-business omni-channel turnkey sportsbetting technology solution to other casino operators in the United States. He detailed that this campaign is to be spearheaded by Luisa Woods, Gaming Marketing Vice-President for Delaware North Companies Incorporated, after the experienced iGaming professional joined his company’s ranks late last year.

Hansberry’s statement read…

“We think that this unique positioning combined with our professional sports relationships, our ownership and operation of TD Garden in Boston and our significant hotel and restaurant holdings will entice other casino companies to want to explore the opportunities this partnership can present them.”

Alliance is a ‘perfect fit’:

For his part, Mike Venner, Chief Executive Officer for Miomni Gaming, explained that his firm has been offering online and mobile sportsbetting solutions to operators in Nevada since 2012 and that its innovations now power the sportsbooks of some 50 casinos in the western state.

Venner’s statement read…

“We are proud and excited to be working in partnership with Delaware North Companies Incorporated. Miomni Gaming is the chosen technology provider behind many of Nevada’s leading online sportsbooks because we designed the platform to be flexible, easy to use and reliable with innovative features designed specifically to engage and entertain United States sports fans. This partnership is the perfect fit from our perspective as we share a vision of delivering a world-class gaming experience.”
