In a move that bolsters its in-house game development capacity, Dutch online casino content creator Stakelogic BV has announced the completion of what it lauds as “the ideal acquisition target,” of Serbia-based slot developer Smart&Applied.

Founded as a game development studio in 2013 by Igor Marinkovic, the Belgrade firm has for the last three years worked “hand and hand” with Stakelogic and under the terms of the deal will now rebrand to Stakelogic Serbia.

Also part of the agreement, Marinkovic has been appointed General Manager of the division of the newly rebranded company, which will be relocated to a new, state-of-the-art office in the center of the southeast European country’s capital later in 2021.

Logic next step:

Chief Executive Officer for Stakelogic, Stephan van den Oetelaar used an official company press release to comment on the recent acquisition, of Smart&Applied, stating that it really strengthens their in-house development capacity and will allow them “to continue to grow at pace while delivering new content to the market on a regular basis.”

On a personal note, the CEO added that he is…

“really excited that Igor will be managing Stakelogic Serbia. We have become great friends over the years and his knowledge and experience is second to none. This really was a natural acquisition for us and one that I believe will deliver tremendous results over the coming years.”

Established in 2014, with offices in the Netherlands, Malta, Ukraine and the Isle of Man, Stakelogic has made quick work of becoming one of the most in-demand iGaming developers in the market. In 2020 alone, the firm, renowned for its trademarked Super Stake and Mega Super Stake features, released 48 classic slots and contemporary video slots.

Boasting four gambling licenses, and having games certified in over 15 jurisdictions, including key markets of Romania, Malta, and the UK, the developer’s games are live across more than 500 of the industry’s leading operators around the world.

Familiar territory:

Also commenting on the acquisition of the company he founded, Marinkovic said…

“I am thrilled to become part of one of the fastest-growing game suppliers in the industry and to play my part in ensuring the business continues its rapid rise over the coming months and years.

“The relationship between Smart&Applied and Stakelogic has become incredibly strong as we have been working hand in hand on a daily basis for many years. An acquisition was the next obvious step, and I am pleased my team can continue to focus on game development under the Stakelogic name.”

In addition to recently making its Spain debut having partnered with The Stars Group-owned leading online poker, sports and casino operator, Pokerstars, the developer has also launched six consecutive new titles, including…

…the April 22nd launch of the Vampire-themed, Dracula, which incorporates its innovative Super Stake feature; Super Wild Blaster, released on April 27th in conjunction with Greenlogic partner Hurricane Games; the May 13th retro title, Ultra Joker, also developed in collaboration with Hurricane Games as part of its Greenlogic Program; as well as Candy Links Bonanza, Viking Smash, and the latest release, Sea God.
