Philadelphia based SugarHouse Casino has launched an online gambling site in New Jersey. As was revealed by the operator, the destination would work under Golden Nugget’s gaming license and it will be operated by Rush Street Interactive.
SugarHouse online gaming site features 240 casino games and welcomes customers with a 20% match bonus up to $100. Only players physically located within the borders of New Jersey while they log in and gamble can play at NJ online casinos.
The online gambling market in Pennsylvania is expected to be regulated soon; this means that SugarHouse may want to get ready for that moment and get ahead of its competitors. The operator is in charge of casinos in New York and Illinois too. If these states regulate online gambling it may be able to spread online operations there as well.
SugarHouse is only miles from the New Jersey border and the Philadelphia casino already siphons off a significant amount of traffic that formerly went to Atlantic City. The casino can use the site as a marketing tool as well.
The announcement comes only a day after a report published by the NJDGE which showed strong results in New Jersey’s internet gambling market.
SugarHouse Casino’s site will be the first one to open in New Jersey after a year of status-quo. The most recent online gaming website in the state was launched in the summer of 2015 by Mohegan Sun.
It’s nothing new for a casino from another state to start online operations in the Garden State.
Among the dozen such gaming sites, there are several that are owned by companies based in states other than New Jersey. For example, Mohegan Sun and Pala Casino are two operators that have entered the state’s online gambling market even though their land based operations are elsewhere.
