US-based global supplier of casino and lottery technology products, Scientific Games Corporation, have just announced their new contract with Sun International – one of the largest South African hotel and gaming entertainment groups. In what is to be their 12th mutual contract so far, the partnership will see Scientific Games providing table products, systems, and games to the new Sun Time Square Casino that is to be launched in Pretoria, South Africa.

The Time Square Casino will be a 1,000,000 square feet property that will include a hotel with 100 luxury rooms and conference center as well as a large casino floor with 2,000 slot machines and 60 tables. The casino is expected to be launched in spring 2017 and the estimates are that it will generate jobs for more than 2,000 people. To help manage the casino’s operations more efficiently and ensure player engagement, the South African company will be acquiring a full-scale solution from Scientific Games.

The Time Square Casino will be equipped with Scientific Games’ latest table game technology like the Shuffle Master and Deck Checker card electronics, but also a number of systems and innovations that will help drive the traffic. The Elite Bonusing Suite is one of the proprietary systems to be introduced in the casino, which will give pit bosses and floor managers the chance to award bonuses instantly from a machine, without interrupting a game.

Commenting on the partnership, the CRO of Scientific Games, Bob Parente, said that the company (SG) values the continuation of their mutual partnership and they appreciate the “recognition” Sun International gives to their innovative solutions. Returning the kind words, the CFO of Sun International, Anthony Leeming, replied by saying that they feel very confident the solutions they acquired will help the Time Square casino have a successful launch and operate more efficiently.
