Victoria Gate Casino, owned and operated by Global Gaming Ventures (GGV), has expanded its poker offering significantly with the recent launch of one of the biggest operating poker rooms outside of London.
In addition to the poker room, the UK ‘super casino’ has also premiered the Ruby Lounge, an exclusive gaming area within the Leeds’ property.
Via the Ruby Lounge, the 50,000 square foot entertainment and gaming destination offer its VIP customers a more exclusive gaming experience. The private gaming area features gaming tables, bar, dedicated croupiers and access to the facility’s V Restaurant.
One of north England’s largest gaming destinations, Victoria Gate Casino will also reportedly be host to poker tournaments throughout the year, which will see players from all over the world travel to the North’s first and only super casino to place their bets.
Managing Director at Victoria Gate Casino, Patrick Noakes, said they are “delighted” to be enhancing their offer with the new VIP area and an expanded poker offering in response to demand.
He went on to say, “Poker is massively popular in Leeds, so we’re very excited to be launching the largest poker room in Yorkshire – and one of the biggest outside of London – right here in the city.
“As well as providing a great space for our regular players, the new area will host huge poker tournaments with prize pools of up to £20,000.
Noakes explained, the tournaments “attract players from around the world, so it’s a fantastic opportunity to welcome some of the best and brightest poker stars to visit the region.”
Part of the Victoria Gate retail development in Leeds, the £30m Victoria Gate Casino is situated alongside the John Lewis store and is only the third super casino in the United Kingdom and the only one in the North and Scotland. The casino, which opened on January 26, 2017, features 140 slots boasting a massive £20,000 jackpot, 24 gaming tables, 75 electronic table games, bars and a fine dining restaurant.
