On the heels of a new slot launch and a partnership deal, leading iGaming software provider, Wazdan, has announced that its games will go live with Swedish operators after receiving certification from the Swedish Gambling Authority.
Now, fully certified in the Scandinavian nation, the Malta-based developer has already enabled its games vis the company’s existing Swedish partners, including Mr Green, Kindred Hero Gaming and more.
“allows us to strengthen our position in the Swedish market”
Signed earlier this month, the deal with online entertainment company, Hero Gaming, went into effective on July 3 and has seen it go live across the firm’s five brands, including Casino Heros, CasiTabi, Betser, Speedy Bet and Speedy Casino. The move further grows the motivated slots developer’s footprint across Scandinavian countries as well as the Japanese market.
According to the official press release…
In an attempt to relax the gambling market and make it accessible to private firms, earlier this year the Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen) began accepting license applications under a new law. Prior to that, the country’s gambling activities had been state-owned and had come under scrutiny from the European Commission for being monopolized.
Follow Denmark’s lead:
However, under European Union (EU) law, Swedes had been able to visit and play at online casinos for a while, until the government in 2018 made the decision to follow in Denmark’s footsteps and end the monopoly and open the market up. The move by Sweden benefits both game producers and players.
The main objective of the country’s gambling re-regulation is to provide a safer market, focusing especially on boosting consumer protection and game security. It enables players the ability to easily pause their accounts and promises stiffer punishment for match fixing and illegal gambling activities.

Its portfolio boasts wildly successful titles such as Magic Stars 3, 9 Lions, Los Muertos™, Great Book of Magic Deluxe, Black Hawk Deluxe, Football Mania Deluxe, and the more recently released Space Spins , Juicy Reels, Lucky Reels, Lucky Fishand launched exclusively with Kindred group operators for a three-month period, Relic Hunters™ and the Book of Faith.
Continuing its growth in regulated markets, Wazdan is now licensed by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC), the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) along with Curacao and Romania. The Valletta-headquartered firm is also certified to offer its products in Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Sweden.
Commenting on the certification, Head of Sales for Wazdan, Andrzej Hyla, said…
.”We are excited to announce our Swedish certification, which allows us to strengthen our position in the Swedish market and expand the reach of our games through our existing operators. The Swedish certification opens up doors for our team to increase what we offer our partners, and also to develop new relationships with operators to bring Wazdan high-quality games to the Swedish players.”
