The World Poker Tour (WPT) is continuing its foray into the online poker world with the WPT Spring Festival. The festival was announced this week and will be sponsored by Poker King. The WPT Online has continued to grow this year since a successful 2020. Games moved online after the COVID-19 pandemic began, since casinos were closed, and social distancing was a major concern. The WPT Spring Festival will kick off this February, offering players plenty of online poker action.

Huge Guarantees

The WPT Spring Festival will take place from February 11-22. It will feature over ¥12 million (~$1.85 million) in guarantees. The most anticipated online poker event on the schedule will be the Main Event. It will take place from February 17-22.

This event includes a prize pool of ¥10 million (~$1.5 million) and will offer three starting flights. The buy-in to the event is ¥2,000 (~$300). Players who take part in the Main Event will be able to play against top poker pros as well as celebrities.

Players who you might recognize that are confirmed for the Main Event include Phil Ivey, Nick Petrangelo, and Tom Dwan. NBA star Allen Iverson is also supposed to take part. Dwan and Ivey are both ambassadors for Poker King.

The sponsor of the festival, Poker King, is known for quality mobile poker gaming. The brand’s software includes the latest innovations which will be featured during the upcoming festival.

Adam Pliska, the WPT CEO, commented on the upcoming event, stating that as the global footprint of the brand continues to expand, the WPT is happy to be able to provide the experience to players in the Asian region conveniently via mobile.

To add even more excitement to the action, Pliska pointed out that the Main Event final table will be live-streamed. This will allow fans to watch as the final players compete to see who will be named the champion. The streaming footage will be provided in several regions as well as languages.
