World Poker Tour (WPT) action is heading to Florida this week. The WPT Seminole Hard Rock Tampa kicks off tomorrow with several poker events to take place through September 7. The series will feature several tournament options, including secondary events like satellites, where players can earn seats to events. Check out more details on the upcoming series below.
Major Poker Events in Tampa
The Seminole Hard Rock Casino Tampa is going to be quite busy over the next few days as players from all around will be able to compete in major poker tournament events. The series starts with the No Limit Hold’em event with a $600 buy-in and re-entry options. Players are competing for $1 million in guaranteed prize money.
That same day, players can post a $400 buy-in to compete in a Pot Limit Omaha tournament featuring re-entry. A Six-handed No Limit Hold’em tournament is also on the schedule for opening day, featuring a larger $1,100 buy-in and $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The schedule is full of valuable poker events, but the highlight has to be the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Championship. This tournament begins on September 2 and has a large buy-in of $3,500. The tournament will feature a $1 million prize pool and include several starting days plus re-entry. Several pros are expected to come and play in this event for a chance to claim the championship title.
Satellite Events on Offer
On top of regular events, the Florida poker room also offers satellites, so players can join in at a much lower price point. Satellites range in price, with the starting price point around $140. This is a bit high for satellites, but considering the larger event buy-ins, it is still a good deal.
Players can compete for seats in the Championship event for $550, with satellites guaranteeing several seats per event. There are turbo satellites and additional options on the schedule. High roller satellites are also up for grabs but cost a pretty penny at $2,650.
