In keeping with its growth strategy, Yggdrasil has partnered with International Game Technology PLC (IGT) (NYSE: IGT) in a “landmark deal” that gives the London-headquartered firm “exclusive territorial distribution rights” for a selected number of its best-in-class game titles to fortify the operator’s PlayCasino digital interest in “key territories” in North America.

Under the multi-year content distribution agreement, operator partners of IGT in regulated markets in the United States and Canada will have access to Yggdrasil iGaming content such as the steampunk-inspired Casino Zeppelin from 2015; the Egyptian-themed Valley of the Gods with 580,000 max win potential; and Vikings Go Wild, the very first installment in the wildly popular series that includes Vikings Go Berzerk, Vikings Go To Hell and the latest addition, Vikings Go Berzerk Reloaded

Long-term growth:

In an official press release, Fredrik Elmqvist, Chief Executive Officer for Yggdrasil, said they continue to deliver on their growth strategy, explaining that the United States and Canada are “key territories for driving continued sustainable long-term growth, and shareholder value.” We are delighted to partner up with IGT, the world’s leading gaming supplier, who will have exclusive territorial distribution rights for a selected number of our best-in-class Yggdrasil game titles.

“As the online gaming market continues to expand in North America, we look forward to supporting IGT’s PlayCasino customers to realise their goals through our player-centric, highly entertaining and iconic games.”

According to the multinational gambling company, the first Yggdrasil game is expected to feature on its platform in December this year.

Also commenting on the collaboration, Enrico Drago, IGT Chief Executive Officer Digital & Betting, added that partnering with “high-performing” games developers such as Yggdrasil is “a pillar” of IGT PlayDigital’s growth strategy and an “additional differentiator of the IGT PlayCasino value proposition.”

Complementary addition:

Drago goes on to declare that Yggdrasil Gaming’s “artistic talents, passion for innovation and commitment to quality and performance shine through in all their games and we believe Yggdrasil games will complement our player-favourite IGT PlayCasino games.”

Lauded as a “landmark deal,” the tie-up marks the Malta-headquartered developer’s entry into the fast-growing North American market as more states regulate online gaming. In the U.S., online gambling is currently legal in Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

IGT LatAm business:

The deal for IGT is on the heels of its multi-year PlaySports technology and services agreement with The Stadium LLC, which will see its PlaySports technology and trading advisory services power all of the future online and retail sportsbooks of Puerto-Rico based entertainment company, WinIn. The Latin American firm is owned and operated by The Stadium LLC.
