Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa have come up with a very unusual concept that seems to be a big hit so far.   Betting on Skill.  While the idea itself is not new (poker is considered a game of skill), the application is entirely new.  As far as we know, there has been nothing like this in a casino environment before.

Buy-in is $20.  Players shoot as many free throws in a 90 second period for the right to play in the final round of 16.   The top four player will each get their share of $10,000.   The game has been approved by the New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement.  No restrictions on play – and yes that means you could find professional basketball players on the court with you.  That might even make an interesting experience even more exciting!
