In an effort to become more efficient, prominent online casino operator, Betsson AB, has announced that it has combined its Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer positions while recruiting Peter Frey (pictured) to fill the now-merged role.

Imminent arrival:

The Stockholm-listed firm used an official Monday press release published by European Gaming Media and Events to declare that Frey currently serves as Chief Technology Officer for Swedish media giant Bonnier News but is set to join its own ranks ‘in the coming months.’

‘Business prioritization’:

Betsson AB stated that Frey has been employed by media providers ‘for the greater part of his professional career’ but is now destined to cooperate closely with its Chief Compliance Officer, Ronni Hartvig, on a range of ‘business prioritization’ matters utilizing advice from its ‘strategy and operations’ departments.

Media experience:

The operator behind some 17 online casino brands including Betsson.com, SverigeAutomaten.com and NordicBet.com, Betsson AB proclaimed that Frey is currently ‘strategically responsible for technology and development’ at Bonnier News. It explained that he had earlier played a key role in increasing the profile of the website for Swedish evening newspaper Aftonbladet before later taking on the same challenge for this publication’s biggest rival, Expressen.

‘A perfect match’:

Betsson is also responsible for the domains at Betsafe.com, CasinoEuro.com and OranjeCasino.com while its Operations Chief Executive Officer, Jesper Svensson, described Frey as ‘a perfect match’ for his firm’s plan to decrease the space between business and technology in order to deliver more user-facing products.

Svensson’s statement read…

“We know we can be more efficient with fewer layers in the organization, as we did with the successful merger of marketing and commercial a while back. At the end of the day, it’s all about efficient delivery of business-driven initiatives. Holding the combined Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer role, Peter Frey will be able to balance capacity changes and ensure swift delivery of improvements to our customer experience.”
