In less than one month, the del Lago Resort will be opening, offering a Las Vegas style gaming experience in Seneca County New York. Management has revealed that the venue is still on schedule to meet the previously announced opening date of February 1st.
Already, the parking lot has been full of cars as employees are learning their positions, while contractors and construction workers continue to prepare the venue for opening day. There are still several projects that need to be completed before the first of February.
Del Lago’s General Manager and Executive Vice President, Jeff Babinski, commented on the venue preparing to open by stating they are getting close. Almost every slot machine has been installed except 71 and more than 1,000 team members are on board and going through orientation to prepare for the grand opening, according to a report by the Syracuse news outlet CNY Central.
It is expected that the del Lago Resort & Casino will cost around $440 million once completed. As many as 1,800 employment positions should be created once the venue is completed and as many as 3 million visitors are expected to visit the Finger Lakes region to take part in gaming and entertainment. Almost 35% of those to be employed at the venue are from Seneca or Cayuga Counties, keeping the money flowing in the local economy.
Babinski stated that everyone who is employed at the venue is excited about the opening and he wants to see their faces when the venue is open and they see how amazing it is. The venue is still hiring according to Babinski and anyone interested in employment can go to the website of the casino to learn more.
