Bagley, Minnesota will be the latest home to a White Earth Nation gaming facility, with the Indian tribe announcing just yesterday they are planning to construct a Shooting Star Casino in the area. The new project will begin this September and will include a casino, hotel and entertainment venue. The project is estimated to be completed by spring of 2016.

The Cuningham Group, an architecture and interior design firm of Minneapolis, has been hired to complete the design phase of the project. Once the casino is complete, the White Earth Nation will hire 40 of their members as well as residents in the nearby area as employees of the venue.

The General Manager of the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, Bill Marsh, stated that the tribe is very excited to be planning a venue in Bagley and choose the area based on extensive research. The research found that most of the Mahnomen customers were from Bagley, with the Northwest region of the state expressing interest in having a gambling facility in the past.

More information on the casino project is expected to be released in the near future. The goal, as stated by Marsh, is that Bagley will become a destination with the new casino opening as well as improve the growth of business in the area. Revenues created from the new facility will go to fund environmental, welfare, educational and health operations of the White Earth Nation.
