The Genting group has announced they plan on investing $450m more on the Resorts World Bimini, a project of the company located in the Bahamas. Genting will be adding another hotel to the property that will include no less than 200 guest rooms. The airport runway of Bimini will be lengthened to 9,000 feet with upgrades to the flight and terminal facilities. Additional upgrades will include a water taxi terminal to be created on the lagoon side of the airport plus a landing facility for water aircraft and a heliport. A casino first in the Bahamas.

With the upgrades, Prime Minister Perry Christie stated that 100 more permanent jobs will be created and as many as 60 construction jobs would be provided by the end of 2015. Christie stated that the business plan by the entities of Resorts World and BB Entertainment (Limited) have been revised from the original investment of $150m to a $600m total. The main components of the plan remain with additional items as well. The 300 hotel room luxury Hilton property is almost complete, with 200 guest rooms already been activated and the lobby close to completion.

Christie also stated that the developers of the project as well as the government have agreed to resurface roads in Bimini as well as increase the expenditure of the infrastructure to $15m instead of the original $10m, with the capital outlay repaid in form of deductions from the fees owed by the casino.
