Tulalip Resort Casino in Washington State is approaching a key milestone in its multi-phase transformation, with the opening of a sweeping new addition slated for July 2025. This 70,250-square-foot expansion on the north side of the existing facility marks a pivotal stage in a broader effort to redefine the casino’s footprint and visitor experience.

Once this latest phase is complete, Tulalip’s gaming floor will span an impressive 270,250 square feet, enhancing its offerings with over 400 new slot machines, a brand-new North Bar, and striking entry points on both the north and east sides. The North Bar will offer full-service amenities and an outdoor seating area adjacent to a designated smoking zone, elevating the comfort and accessibility of the venue located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.

Cultural Design, Extensive Renovations to Follow

Following the July opening, attention will shift toward comprehensive interior renovations, with projected completion in late 2026. The ambitious redesign will incorporate rich cultural motifs inspired by the Tulalip Tribes’ heritage, drawing from the imagery and textures of the Salish Sea, surrounding coastal environments, and tribal traditions. Natural materials and a vibrant color scheme will be central to the new aesthetic.

“These enhancements represent our unwavering commitment to delivering a top-tier guest experience,” said Marci Fryberg, President and COO of the Tulalip Gaming Organization, quoted by Tribal Gaming & Hospitality. “We’ve been intentional in limiting interruptions during the construction, and we’re thrilled by the enthusiasm our guests continue to show. We’re confident the final results will surpass expectations.”

The renovation project, initiated in January 2024, is a continuation of Tulalip’s dedication to excellence. It follows a history of development that includes a major hotel opening in 2008 and a $15 million upgrade in 2016. Located north of Everett in Quil Ceda Village, the AAA Four-Diamond resort has earned accolades such as Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards (2016–2024) and a 2024–2025 Forbes Travel Guide recommendation.

Enhanced Amenities Across the Property

Guests will find improvements not just in the gaming space but across the entire resort. The High-Limit Slot Room, encompassing 4,000 square feet, is undergoing a refresh and is set to reopen with enhanced features. Its slot machines have been temporarily moved near the VIP Lounge and North Entrance during construction.

Major upgrades are also being made to dining venues. Blackfish Wild Salmon Grill and its adjoining bar underwent brief closures in fall 2024 for renovations, with service redirected to nearby Tula Bene Pastaria + Chophouse during that time. Similarly, enhancements at Journeys East include a reconfigured To-Go area and a temporary bar setup, with work expected to wrap by late November.

All restrooms throughout the casino—north, central, and south—have now been fully updated, marking a key achievement in the renovation timeline. Additional access improvements include new restrooms near the expanded gaming area and the creation of welcoming new entryways. The East Entrance, located near the DraftKings Sportsbook, and the North Entrance, facing the Tulalip Amphitheatre and Seattle Premium Outlets, are designed to streamline guest flow while adding aesthetic appeal.

Behind the Project: Expertise and Vision

Swinerton Construction, a leader in the hospitality sector, is overseeing the building efforts, working in close collaboration with Tulalip’s internal Project Team and Division Leaders. The architectural vision is led by Rice Fergus Miller, a Bremerton-based firm renowned for projects that serve Native communities across the region. Their design integrates cultural storytelling with modern resort features to deliver a uniquely immersive guest experience.

Tulalip Resort Casino’s ongoing transformation reinforces its position as a premier entertainment destination in Washington State. Open around the clock, the property currently features over 2,400 slot machines, 35 table games, bingo, and a sportsbook. Guests also enjoy access to five restaurants, a 12-story hotel with 370 rooms, extensive meeting space, and three major entertainment venues, including a 2,000-seat outdoor amphitheater.
