The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit is officially set to return to Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto in 2025, bringing an expanded schedule and a significant increase in prize pools. Running from April 10 to 22, 2025, the tournament will feature 11 WSOP Circuit Ring Events, three more than last year. The total prize pool is projected to surpass $6.5 million, with the Main Event alone expected to exceed $3 million.
The announcement comes after the successful debut of the WSOP Circuit in Toronto in 2024, which drew over 6,000 entries and generated a record-breaking $5.5 million prize pool—far exceeding initial estimates. With demand growing and GGPoker’s continued involvement as an exclusive partner, the 2025 edition is poised to set even higher records.
Bigger Prize Pools and Expanded Tournament Lineup
This year’s $2,000 Main Event returns with three starting flights, beginning on April 17, and will play down to a champion on April 21. In 2024, the event alone generated a $2.8 million prize pool, and organizers expect an even bigger turnout this time.
Another major highlight is the $3,500 High Roller event, which last year attracted some of the toughest competition and built a $1 million prize pool. The 2025 edition is expected to reach at least $1.1 million in prize money.
Several new events are being introduced in the WSOP Circuit Toronto schedule, including:
- $300 Ladies Event – April 11
- $400 Seniors Event – April 15
- $600 Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) Event – April 16 (first time in Toronto Circuit history)
- $800 Mystery Bounty Event – April 14-15
Additionally, certain events from the previous year have been adjusted, such as the opening tournament, which now has a $600 buy-in instead of $250. The Deepstack event has also been upgraded from $400 to $600, while the No-Limit Hold’em 6-Max event has been removed from the lineup.
GGPoker’s Role in WSOP Circuit Toronto
GGPoker remains a key partner in the WSOP Circuit’s return to Toronto, as part of its exclusive sponsorship agreement with Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto. The partnership ensures that WSOP Bracelet and Ring events will continue to be hosted exclusively at the venue, making it the only location in Ontario for official WSOP action.
To provide players with more ways to enter, GGPoker will host online satellite tournaments, allowing participants to qualify for as little as $1. Direct qualifiers will also be available, starting at $215 buy-ins. In 2024, 324 Main Event players earned their seats through GGPoker, and even more are expected to qualify online for 2025.
“We’re thrilled to partner once again with GGPoker to bring an elite poker experience to Toronto,” said Michael Kim, Executive Vice President of Great Canadian Entertainment, in a press release. “The demand for this exceptional tournament continues to grow, attracting top talent from around the world. This year’s event promises even higher stakes and unparalleled excitement. We’re proud to continue elevating the poker scene and being the sole destination in Ontario delivering WSOP events for players and fans alike.”
“We are excited to continue our partnership with Great Canadian and deliver premier poker experiences,” added Sarne Lightman, Managing Director of GGPoker. “By combining the best of live and online poker, we’re ensuring players have unparalleled access to the WSOP Circuit in Ontario.”
