PhilWeb Corp. has entered into a new agreement with Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. to support online gaming operations linked to Newport World Resorts, extending its role as a technology and services provider in the Philippines’ regulated digital gaming space.
The arrangement places PhilWeb as the gaming system administrator for NWRPlay, the online platform connected to Newport World Resorts. The company confirmed in a disclosure dated April 6 that it will oversee multiple backend and operational functions tied to the platform’s rollout and development.
Under the terms outlined, PhilWeb “will provide platform technology, system support, gaming content integration, marketing and operational services” for the platform, subject to regulatory approvals.
Platform support role expands PhilWeb’s scope
The agreement assigns PhilWeb responsibility for several core components of NWRPlay’s infrastructure. This includes the provision of underlying platform systems, integration of gaming content, and ongoing technical support. In addition to these backend services, the company will also take on marketing and operational responsibilities for the platform.
The collaboration builds on PhilWeb’s accreditation from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR), allowing it to operate as a Gaming System Administrator under the regulator’s framework. This designation enables the company to supply licensed operators with the technical and operational tools required to offer regulated online gaming services.
The partnership with Travellers International adds another major operator to PhilWeb’s growing list of clients. In recent weeks, the company has announced similar agreements with other integrated resort operators, including Hann Casino Resort, Okada Manila, and NUSTAR. It has also entered into a separate service arrangement with FBM Philippines related to gaming machines and venue support.
Newport World Resorts strengthens digital offering
Travellers International, which operates Newport World Resorts in Pasay City, provides PhilWeb with access to a large-scale hospitality and gaming environment. The property is located near Ninoy Aquino International Airport and includes multiple hotel brands such as Marriott Hotel Manila, Hilton Manila, Sheraton Manila Hotel, and Hotel Okura Manila.
Beyond accommodation and gaming, the complex features retail and entertainment facilities, including the Newport Mall and the Newport Performing Arts Theater, which has a capacity of 1,710 seats.
By integrating online gaming through NWRPlay, Travellers International is expanding its reach beyond physical casino floors. The move reflects a broader trend in the local industry, where operators are developing digital platforms to engage a wider base of domestic players.
The agreement allows PhilWeb to support this transition by providing the technical backbone required for remote gaming services, while also managing content and operational processes tied to the platform.
B2B strategy drives recurring revenue focus
According to Manila Bulletin, PhilWeb has been shifting its business model toward a business-to-business structure, focusing on service-based revenue streams rather than direct consumer operations. The NWRPlay agreement aligns with this direction, reinforcing the company’s position as a platform and infrastructure provider.
Through partnerships with established resort operators, PhilWeb is working to expand its footprint in the regulated online gaming ecosystem. This approach allows the company to generate income through platform services, content integration, and operational support, which may offer more consistent revenue compared to standalone gaming operations.
The collaboration with Travellers International is also seen as a step toward scaling its presence in a market where digital gaming continues to develop under regulatory oversight. As integrated resorts extend their services into online channels, demand for licensed system administrators and support providers is expected to grow.
The agreement remains subject to standard regulatory approvals. Financial terms related to revenue sharing or service fees were not disclosed.
PhilWeb’s continued activity in forming partnerships with major operators indicates an ongoing effort to build a network of clients within the country’s licensed gaming environment. The addition of Newport World Resorts further strengthens its portfolio as it expands its B2B platform and content initiatives.
