Relax Gaming Launches Nuclear Tumble Online Slot Game

Relax Gaming has expanded its Tumble online slot portfolio with the release of Nuclear Tumble, a new title developed in partnership with Casino Grounds that combines cascading gameplay with cash prize collection mechanics.

The 6×6 slot introduces several betting modes and a selection of features built around cash symbols that must reach the bottom of the grid to award their attached values. Players can also wager their free spins to access enhanced bonus levels, adding another layer to the game’s progression system.

Nuclear Tumble takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting where radioactive waste has transformed the surrounding landscape. Oversized fruit and vegetables grow among abandoned buildings, while a muscular bear dressed in overalls stands alongside the reels. The game’s radioactive theme becomes more prominent during bonus rounds, when toxic material spreads across the screen.

Cascading mechanics and cash prize collection

The game uses six reels and six rows, offering 46,656 ways to win. Players can select stakes ranging from €/$0.20 to €/$200, while the default return-to-player (RTP) rate stands at 96.1%. Alternative versions with RTP settings of 94%, 92% and 90% are also available. Nuclear Tumble carries medium-high volatility, with a maximum potential payout of 5,000 times the stake.

Each round begins with as many as 25 stone blockers occupying positions across the grid. Winning combinations disappear, along with any blockers positioned directly beside the winning symbols. The remaining symbols then fall into the available spaces, creating opportunities for further combinations. This process continues until the grid produces no additional wins.

The regular paytable features four playing card suits alongside blueberries, apples, aubergines, tomatoes and a bear. The card symbols occupy the lower-paying positions, while the fruit, vegetables and bear provide higher potential returns. Radioactive wild symbols can substitute for regular paying symbols and may appear on every reel except the first.

Cash prizes form a central part of the game’s mechanics. Stone blockers can reveal cash symbols, explosive bombs or scatter symbols when destroyed. The cash symbols carry multipliers represented by bronze, silver and gold values.

Their collection system differs from conventional cash-symbol features. Each prize must fall to the bottom row of the grid before its value is added to the round’s winnings. During their descent, cash symbols also destroy any blockers directly beneath them, potentially opening further positions for cascading symbols.

Exploding bombs provide another way to clear the playing area. Once the regular cascade sequence finishes, a bomb can destroy non-cash symbols in the same horizontal and vertical lines, extending across the grid.

Meltdown Mode and progressive free spins

Clearing every stone blocker during a round activates Meltdown Mode. The feature removes all symbols from the grid apart from cash prizes, which remain in position as a new tumble begins. The resulting round offers an increased opportunity to encounter additional cash symbols with higher values.

Free Spins provide a separate progression mechanic. Collecting at least three scatter symbols awards six regular free spins. Landing an enhanced scatter alongside the required symbols can unlock higher bonus levels, with Super and Ultra modes offering improved starting positions.

The different sources provide varying descriptions of the enhanced bonus awards: one lists six Super Free Spins and 10 Ultra Free Spins, while another specifies eight and 12, respectively.

During the bonus, every four collected cash symbols advance the progression meter. Each increase raises the available cash prize values and awards an additional free spin. The feature also allows players to gamble for a higher starting level before the bonus begins.

The cash prize progression uses four levels beyond the initial starting position. Bronze prizes begin at multipliers of 1x to 5x, while the highest Gold values can reach 2,500x the stake. At the maximum progression level, the available values are capped at 20x for Bronze, 100x for Silver and 2,500x for Gold.

Additional free spins can also be awarded when players destroy a blocker containing an extra-spin symbol.

SuperCharge introduces additional betting options

Relax Gaming has included a SuperCharge menu with several optional feature purchases. These allow players to access specific mechanics or bonus rounds by paying a multiple of their selected stake.

The available options include Bonus Reels for 10x the bet, which remove regular paying symbols to increase the likelihood of triggering bonus features. Golden Spins cost 15x the stake and ensure that cash prizes appear with gold values.

Players can also purchase Meltdown Mode directly for 30x the bet. A Golden Meltdown option, priced at 175x, triggers the same feature with exclusively gold cash prizes.

The bonus purchase options cover all three free-spin levels. Regular Free Spins cost 50x the stake, Super Free Spins are available for 100x, and Ultra Free Spins cost 200x. Their golden alternatives, which feature only gold cash prizes, cost 400x, 750x and 1,500x, respectively.

An Enhanced Bet option doubles the initial stake while increasing the chances of triggering Meltdown Mode and Free Spins.
